Some Christmas things stay with us for decades. My original Snowman bedding from the 80s somehow made its way through the years and now lives in our home. My children love it too. There’s only one set, and that in itself brings up feelings about memory, sharing, and continuity. Christmas decorations and objects can hold so much more than nostalgia. They can carry pieces of childhood. Pieces of our parents’ lives. And sometimes, reminders of people who are no longer here. Beds, rooms, and bedding are especially personal.
