I just finished up a week of riding the KTM 690 Enduro R on the Colorado BDR. On this trip we tackled 800 miles of the tallest and toughest off road passes in America as well as many hours on the highway and freeway. After 7 days on the bike, what is my KTM 390 Enduro R review? Huge thanks to Brake Free for sponsoring this video. Save on a Brake Free unit by using this affiliate link: https://www.brakefreetech.com/DORKINTHEROAD There's a lot to love about the KTM 690, particularly when it comes to off road riding. The 690 Enduro is light and capable and has pretty much the best dual sport motorcycle suspension I've ever encountered. It glides up technical terrain with ease and is capable of tackling the most technical trails you can throw at it. On the highway, however, the 690 enduro definitely does not shine. It's uncomfortable and buzzy and while it has the power to keep up with traffic, riding for hours on the freeway is not something you're going to want to do. After a week of riding the KTM 690 enduro off road and on the pavement, I have to say that overall I don't love it. The biggest downside to this bike is the power delivery. The KTM 690 Enduro R has very little power on the low end and almost no "tractor factor," which is pretty important when taking on technical sections at low speeds.
