The 2025 KTM 390 Enduro R is an amazing value. It costs the same as many similar dual sport bikes ($5500) but is loaded with features those other bikes all lack. KTM has absolutely knocked it out of the park in terms of value for your dollar with this bike. I have no idea how they're able to sell it so cheap. Yet...after owning and riding it for a few months now, my KTM 390 Enduro R review is...confusing. It's a great entry-level dual sport but it's insanely heavy compared to the competition. The KTM 390 Enduro highway performance is far and away better than a CRF300L or KLX300...but the fuel tank is tiny. I love a lot of things about this 390 KTM enduro...yet I'm not sure if I like it overall? The biggest question on my mind relates to the KTM 390 Enduro R vs KTM 390 Adventure R comparison. I'm not sure why I should want this version when the Adventure offers a ton more features, solves many of my 390 enduro r dislikes, and is only a little bit more expensive? All of this and more is explored in my full length, long term 2025 KTM 390 Enduro R review. Let's compare it to some similar dual sport and to its more expensive sibling the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R. t’s kind of the perfect “gateway drug” bike for both ADV and dual sport. Ride it for a while and once you decide what kind of riding you enjoy you’ll end up “upgrading” to the 390 ADV or moving up to a dirt oriented dual sport like the KTM 500. The limitations that you notice most will help you decide which path to pursue. If the weight bothers you and you’re off the pavement a lot, well then your 2nd bike should be a lighter dual sport. If the lack of range bothers you and you find yourself on the highway a lot…well then you are probably the perfect candidate for the ADV version. This bike is an excellent gateway into both ADV and dual sport riding…and all for an amazing price. I think it falls flat when you look at it through the lens of a more experienced rider, but for a try it all, do it all true dual sport motorcycle, there’s a lot to love here.
