Idaho BDR, Day 5: Lolo Pass (IDBDR Section 6)

We're on to Day 5 of our Idaho BDR adventure, but with a major change of plans. The Ducati DesertX has had to head home, leaving just the Aprilia Tuareg 660 and the Harley Davidson Pan America to conquer the final sections of the route. This is a tough one, as we tackle all of Section 6 and the legendary Lolo Motorway, a true test of endurance and off-road adventure bike capability. The Lolo Motorway is a remote, narrow, and often-challenging primitive road that traces the historic path of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and the Nez Perce Tribe. As we ride high on the ridge tops, we're immersed in dense forests and breathtaking vistas, with the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness sprawling out on either side. The lack of cell service and the rugged terrain truly make you feel like a pioneer on two wheels. This is a day of gritty adventure riding, but the rewards are immense. We’ll be seeking out remote motorcycle camping spots with incredible views, exploring historical markers, and tackling everything this famous route throws at us. Watch as we put the Aprilia and the Harley through their paces on this historic and challenging trail, all while embracing the solitude and beauty of Idaho’s backcountry. The Desert X isn't the only bike having problems on this section. My Tuareg 660 suffers a mechanical failure of its own about 3/4 through the Lolo Motorway. Will this be the end of our Idaho BDR motorcycle adventure? Will we be able to continue riding adv bikes on the remainder of the route?
