This video about the GUE Cave Diving Project Phreatic Sardinia 2019 in the beautiful caves of eastern Sardinia was shot during the project week. The participating GUE cave divers were mainly concerned to find and scientifically document sponges in the mixing zone between salt and freshwater in Bue Marino, Bel Torrente and Cala Luna cave systems. We actually found a lot of sponges and got away with some nice footage of these amazing caves. Unfortunately, the COVID19 pandemic made it impossible to return to the caves this year to carry on the tremendous work we started last year. But we will do as soon as it's possible again. This video was orignially cut and produced by my friend Leonardo Lucitano (make sure to subscribe to his channel, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_feJPRuWxI0). However, I made some of the shots, especially the drone footage. This is the reason why we feature it on his and my channel!
