Today we took out a massive 2017 42-foot Yellowfin center console, weighing in at over 20,000 pounds fully loaded to see if it could still get on plane running only two of its engines. This boat is a 2017 42' Yellowfin with triple Mercury Verado 400hp V10 engines. Having a dry weight of 15,000 pounds, we also add the 3,400 pounds of fuel, 7 people, coolers, and gear putting us around 9071 kilograms. With the ocean as our testing ground and conditions just right, we pushed this beast to its limits. Will it glide or bog down? Come along as we test the performance, power, and stability of this serious offshore machine. The stepped hull design on the yellowfin center console boats allows the boat to get up on plane with many different engine combinations. After that, we spent the afternoon working on my videographer’s car—making a few tweaks and getting it dialed in. Then we wrapped the day with something completely different: a trip to the dentist office, where I showed my wife what she would look like if she got veneers. The results? Insane.
