We start with the AI Agent, which has become much smarter in identifying, combining, and rewriting relevant academic content. Instead of jumping between multiple search tabs or manually filtering dozens of PDFs, you can now run a single query and instantly receive a unified table of the most relevant studies, complete with relevance scores showing how closely each article aligns with your question. This alone can save researchers hours of manual sorting. We also test the Excel export option, which lets you download the full results table in a clean spreadsheet format ideal for systematic reviews, annotated bibliographies, and research planning. For papers that are not openly accessible, SciSpace now offers two practical options: requesting the full text directly from authors through a pre-filled message, or checking your institutional access through your university library. You can add columns that generate concise summaries for every paper in your result set, making it easier to skim key ideas without fully reading each document. For longer articles, the PLDR (too long to read) option produces clear takeaways so you can quickly grasp the main arguments and findings. These summaries work across all papers in your search and can significantly cut down your reading time. We also look at how SciSpace handles your own documents. By connecting your Google Drive or uploading PDFs directly, you can limit the AI Agent’s focus to a curated set of papers. This is especially useful when conducting thematic analysis or cross-paper comparison. For example, you can ask how different authors define a specific concept, and the AI will search only within your selected files, giving you precise, context-dependent answers. Citation generation has been made more convenient as well. You can choose from multiple formats, copy the citation instantly, and paste it directly into your manuscript or reference manager.
