MacBook Neo (US)

This is the MacBook Neo I’ve been testing for the past three weeks, and it’s honestly one of the easiest “everyday Mac” recommendations Apple has made at $599. You’re getting a proper aluminum build, a sharp and bright display, great battery life, and fast day-to-day performance—just be aware of the 8GB RAM limit and the port compromises.

Pros

+Premium-feeling full aluminum build with solid hinge
+Sharp, bright display (up to 500 nits) with strong color accuracy
+Fast everyday performance and whisper-quiet fanless design
+All-day battery life for normal tasks

Cons

-8GB unified memory is not upgradeable
-No Thunderbolt support
-Two USB-C ports aren’t equal (one is much slower USB 2)
-No keyboard backlight (and no Touch ID on the 256GB model)
