Light Tackle vs BIG Catfish – Can It Really Handle the Power?

I am fishing with the Penn Pursuit V spinning rod and reel combo. Penn makes a great selection of spinning tackle for any size fish. In this fishing video I am showing what this gear can do on large catfish. These Penn spinning reels are in the 4000 class size and are designed to catch a variety of medium size fish in both freshwater and saltwater. Bass, catfish, redfish, trout, crappie and even small sharks are some of the fish suited for this gear. I also have some older Penn Battle II rods and reels, and they are spooled up with braided fishing line. There are also some Penn Fierce IV combos on this trip. Using light tackle to catch big fish is how most fisherman are fishing. Most anglers are out fishing with light tackle and accidentally hook into giant fish.
