It is the perfect time of year to head out into the desert for exploration. In today’s episode we find some pretty amazing BLM land for dispersed camping in our truck camper before heading into Joshua Tree National Park. While in Joshua Tree we find ourselves on a quest to find something most visitors have no idea is even located within the park. Our journey leads us out into the middle of the desert with no trail to locate something called Samuelson’s Rock. It is said that a man with an alluring possibly fictitious life history homesteaded in this area in the early 1900’s and during his time here carved philosophical musings and political insults into several stones. Our next destination is to hike the more popular Hidden Valley Nature Trail before the evening freeze sets in.
