🎧 Welcome to The Desktop HiFi Channel! Hi, I’m Bruce — and you may remember me from The Boomer Consumer. After years of reviewing audio gear perfect for nearfield listening, I realized it was time for a name that truly fits the content. This channel is all about HiFi that fits on your desk — DACs, powered and passive speakers, headphone amps (tube & solid-state), music streamers, headphones, and more. Why the change? The term Boomer Consumer didn’t reflect what the channel had become — and let’s be honest, it could turn some people off. The desktop audio scene is booming with companies like Topping, SMSL, Fosi, Klipsch, Schiit, Arylic, and others offering amazing performance in small packages. Not everyone has space (or budget) for a full-size HiFi setup. Thankfully, today’s desktop gear is compact, powerful, and sounds fantastic — whether you’re using headphones, powered speakers, or a mini Class D amp under $150. Going forward, I’ll keep focusing on gear I would personally use and recommend — no paid fluff, no hype.
