Home Assistant is where I go when I want automations that are truly deep—wait timers, multiple conditions, and logic based on just about anything. In this video I use it to wait 5 minutes after the kitchen goes clear, confirm the dining area is also clear, and then shut off a whole area of lights without messing up dinner time.
“We'll even build some automations with HomeKit and Home Assistant using the FP2”
“Typically, I would route my devices straight into HomeKit, but because of the nature of some of my automations, the limitation of HomeKit when creating parameters and automations, and the variety of features built into the FP2, I'm running the devices into Home Assistant and from Home Assistant into HomeKit”
“This allows me to see my devices in HomeKit, create automations in HomeKit, but also go much deeper in automation when I want to using Home Assistant”
“I personally am using the Accara app, HomeKit, Home Assistant, and the Home Plus app in my automations”
“I need a more advanced app, which is where Home Assistant comes in”
