In this in-depth review, I take a detailed look at what it’s like to live with Audi’s latest premium EV estate, focusing on comfort, performance, range, charging, interior quality, and everyday practicality. Powered by a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 362 PS (briefly rising to 375 PS with launch control), the A6 Avant e-tron Performance delivers smooth, effortless acceleration and a well-balanced rear-wheel-drive setup. With a 0–62 mph time of 5.4 seconds, it’s quick enough to feel special without ever becoming tiring or overly aggressive — perfectly suited to long-distance driving. One of the standout features is the 100 kWh battery (94.9 kWh usable) paired with an 800-volt electrical architecture. This enables ultra-rapid DC charging at up to 270 kW, allowing a 10–80% charge in as little as 21 minutes. While official WLTP range figures of up to 435 miles are optimistic, real-world winter testing returned around 320 miles, which remains genuinely usable thanks to the excellent charging performance. Ride comfort is a real strength, with the A6 Avant e-tron isolating occupants from poor road surfaces and motorway noise, while still feeling stable and confidence-inspiring at speed. The cabin is modern, solidly built, and ergonomically excellent, although the heavy use of piano black trim does detract slightly from the otherwise premium feel. Practicality is good rather than class-leading, with a 502-litre boot (1,422 litres with seats folded) and a small front boot, but strong towing capability of up to 2,100 kg adds genuine versatility. Overall, the Audi A6 Avant e-tron Performance is a refined, comfortable and thoroughly thought-through electric estate that works exceptionally well as a long-distance cruiser and everyday family car.
