Not dry. Just shimmering. Tilt your paper slightly. If the paint runs or pools, it’s too wet. If nothing reflects light, it’s too dry. You want it to simply shine — like a soft glaze catching the light. Once you get that first wash right, change colors and test that second color the same way. Check its liquidity. It should also be just moist enough to shimmer — not drip. Now — while that first glaze is still beautifully damp — quickly introduce the second color. If your moisture levels are right: • The colors will blend softly • No harsh edges • No puddles • No pooling Just a gentle merge. The magic isn’t in “adding more water.” It’s in learning to recognize that subtle shine — that quiet shimmer.
