In this video I’m putting a big spotlight on a compatibility problem that can absolutely wreck your workflow: the XTRA Muse and the DJI Mic. The XTRA Muse is basically a vlogging-style stabilizer/handle setup that’s trying to give you a Pocket-3-ish experience with your phone, and on paper it sounds like a clean, compact run-and-gun rig. But once you start thinking like a working filmmaker—audio first, reliability always—this is where the warning comes in. I break down what the XTRA Muse actually is, how it compares to something like the DJI Pocket 3, and why DJI Mic users need to slow down before assuming it’ll “just work.” I also talk through a DJI Mic “hack” idea people try in the real world, and the practical stuff nobody wants to mention until they’re already on a shoot: mounting, cable management, monitoring, and what happens when your audio chain gets finicky. My takeaway is simple: if your whole plan depends on DJI Mic integration, don’t gamble—verify your exact connection path and test it hard before you trust it on paid work.
