Amazon Associates FTC Disclaimer Update and Guidelines for Blogs, Social Media and YouTube

The Amazon Associates program released a mass email explaining how you should disclose your affiliation with the program as a way to stay compliant with FTC regulations. This happened because of a circuit court in Utah ruling on affiliate disclosures: 1. The biggest change is to include “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases" in your footer or sidebar. Most use "... is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites." This is fine, but you still need to state clearly the new sentence. 2. You don't need to change any buy buttons or disclose every single link. Just have a disclosure in your sidebar or footer for Amazon Associates. 4.
