Mew2King Robot Mindset - Two Traits for Success

We all know Mew2King (M2K) has had a robot-like approach to Super Smash Bros. Melee. Whether it be analyzing moves frame-by-frame with the mere pause button, or aiming for a consistency thought to be unattainable, this mindset is a great attributor to his success across all Smash games. Most of us aren't too eager to work ourselves like a robot, but we can take away 2 traits in particular that are manageable pieces of wisdom fit for us humans. Trait #1: The Robot knows no limits. If something is humanly possible, we should believe it is well within our reach to master it. Believing otherwise only creates self-imposed limits to what we can achieve. When you choose to constrain yourself, be prepared to watch others grow beyond you. A perfect example is the comparison I made in the video of VoiD and Mr. R. Nowadays, Mr. R is easily as technical as Void, but early on it seemed Mr. R set limits to how far he could extend his combos, until he saw how VoiD grew with no boundaries. Of course, obtain a solid grasp of the fundamental gameplay first. Beyond that, you must never set you own limits. Trait #2: The Robot believes knowledge is power. Most people would not believe how often and how close matches really get. Just from on the big stage we see matches being decided by single frame situations- that is 1/60th of a second making all the difference. Imagine all the matches at every local tournaments that we don't take the time to analyze. Imagine all the stocks that have ever been played EVER- endless stocks have been decided by single frame situations. Every bit of knowledge and understanding of the game, no matter how big or small, accumulates together and can truly provide you the necessary edge to rank ahead the players you could never beat.
