Does Luck Matter in Competitive Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

I analyze possible answers to all these questions, and the answers will remain the same for all competitive fighting games: from Melee to Street Fighter to Dragon Ball FighterZ. Basically, it all depends. There is no doubt that luck plays a part, but I think the important question is, "can luck play a part to the extent that it sways the outcome of a game, or even a set?" Well, the closer the skill gap between two players, the higher the chance luck can sway the outcome. This is why a player very slightly better than another probably won't take every game in a row. Luck plays a part. But what about players far apart in skill? Well, that would take a lot more luck. Especially to win a best of 3. But here's the catch... *lucky things happen all the time*. I'm sure this isn't surprising to hear, but most of us haven't let that fact sink in. Thinking back, there has surely been very fortunate moments in your life. Here's a Smash Ultimate example. After watching the complexity and specifics to perform this- how lucky is it that this had occured!? Incredibly! Especially so early from release. But lucky things happen all the time. In the end, make it your goal to be so good, you'd have to be insanely unlucky to lose. That is an attribute of true power.
