Update: The song is finally OUT! Link to listen. 🎧 https://linktr.ee/iamdjreminisce Day 5 of my 30-day release challenge and I'm not gonna lie—this is HARD. The reality nobody shows you: I'm working my regular job during the day Then in the studio until 1-2 AM every night The mix still isn't where I want it The excitement from day 1 has worn off I'm questioning if this is even good I'm exhausted and my brain is fried This is the messy middle. This is where 99% of artists quit. They quit because: The initial excitement fades The work becomes just... work Doubt creeps in Nobody's watching yet It stops being "fun" Consistency gets boring But here's what I've learned on day 5: This exact moment—when you want to quit—is THE defining moment of your music career. Not the day you get signed. Not the day you hit 1 million streams. THIS moment. Right here. Day 5 at 11:47 PM when you're tired and nobody cares yet and you have to decide if you're going to show up anyway. Every artist you admire went through this exact moment. The Weeknd did. Dre. Dre did. Drake did. Michael Jackson did. They all had their "day 5" where nobody was watching and they could've quit and nobody would've known. The only difference between artists who make it and artists who don't? The ones who make it show up on day 5. So yeah, I'm tired. Yeah, the song isn't perfect yet. Yeah, this is harder than I thought. But I'm still here. Still working. Still showing up. 25 days left. Progress update: ✅ Production complete ✅ Harmonies recorded ✅ Vocal mixing in progress (70% done) 🎯 Tomorrow: Finishing vocal mix and starting instrument balance 📅 25 days until Spotify release If you're grinding on your own project right now—whether it's music, content, business, whatever—drop a comment. Let's encourage each other. We're all fighting the same battle. The messy middle is where magic happens. Stay locked in. About This Video

It’s 9:00 PM on day five of my 30-day release challenge, and I’m keeping it real: I almost quit today. I almost didn’t even make this video, and I definitely didn’t feel like doing any work. I’m exhausted, the song isn’t exactly where I want it, and the excitement I had on day one is gone. I work full-time, I’m up at 5:00 AM, I’ve got my routine, my job, my family life, a busy studio—so by the time I’m back in the creative zone, my body is tired and my brain is fried. But this is the part nobody shows you—the messy middle. This is why most independent artists don’t release music, and it’s not talent, gear, or time. It’s because they quit on day five—when the dopamine fades, the work becomes just work, nobody’s paying attention yet, and doubt gets loud. What clicked for me tonight is that every great artist I look up to had their “day five” too, and the difference is they showed up anyway. So no, the song isn’t perfect, and yeah, I’m tired—but I’m still here. I’m about 70% done with the mix, and the plan is to finish the rest tomorrow and run revisions. Because 25 days from now, when this drops on Spotify and Apple Music, I’m going to be glad I didn’t quit on day five.
