(Google Home) Today DIY Smart Home Guy is going to talk about me, the Google Home Assistant. We are going to do an unboxing, setup and review of this cool new tech. Plus, we will compare it to the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot. Just like the Amazon Echo, the google home is a multi-purpose voice controller that's fills the roles of personal assistant, entertainment controller, and home automation controller. So if you want to get an idea of the size of this thing, here's the Amazon Echo and here's the Echo Dot. I'm just going to use the standard Google Play music because I don't have a premium account with any of these other services. The Chromecast is something that I am very interested in, so I’m going to register my TV. After having access to so many devices and options through the Echo, the Google Home is a huge step back for me. We talked about the Chromecast feature. This feature allows you to cast any content from a Chromecast enabled app. Amazon sideswiped the market with the release of the Echo and now everyone is racing to catch up.
