The Ecovacs GOAT A2500 RTK is a wire-free robotic mower that I tested as my first robot lawn mower, and it packs a lot of smart features like RTK + Lidar navigation, obstacle avoidance, and app-based mapping. It’s a legit lawn maintainer if you run it regularly, but you do need to plan base power and RTK placement, and I wish it cut a little higher than 3.6 inches.

Pros
- +Perimeter wire-free setup with app mapping (auto or manual)
- +RTK navigation with strong accuracy and good performance even with trees/shade
- +Returns to charge and resumes mowing automatically
- +Obstacle detection helps avoid common yard items
- +Edge mowing gets close to walls/fences with a small gap
- +Camera view in the app lets you see what the mower sees
Cons
- -Max cutting height is 3.6 inches (I prefer closer to 4 inches)
- -Needs frequent mowing to maintain the lawn; not great for tall grass
- -Base station and RTK antenna placement can be tricky if you lack outlets or open sky
- -May miss spots around obstacles on early runs (though it can go back and finish)
