In this video, I’m going show you how to make your any age Honda Ridgeline shift smoother during cold starts and overall when driving I did this on my 2023 Honda Ridgeline and that thing was shifting like butter. Also, the delays in shifts from park or drive to reverse were quicker! In this video, I’m showing you how I do it in my 2024 Honda Ridgeline just over 6000 miles. I added half a quart of Lucas transmission fix. Drove it over 1000 miles and now doing the review. This is my own personal experience using Lucas transmission fix. If your transmission is running fine or you are content with it then just stick to OEM fluid. Depending on driving habits, I would change the fluids between 30,000 miles and 60,000 miles after the initial 15 K fluid change. For me, I personally plan to change all my fluids at the initial 15 K that’s torque converter transmission and rear differential. This is to get out any metal shavings. After that anywhere between 30k to 50,000 miles should suffice. Depending on your driving habits if you’d like to drive hard like myself I would probably do it sooner. If you’re towing I would probably stick to 30 K if you own a 2017 to 2019 Honda Ridgeline I would definitely stick to 30 K for the torque converter and the transmission six speed automatics. Again, these are things that I do to my vehicles to optimize performance. You have to do what’s best for your truck that’s up to you either way you just wanna make sure you are changing your fluids.
