Here’s a comprehensive guide to assist you through the process: ⸻ 🛠️ Tools & Materials Needed • Honda Dual Pump Fluid II (Part No. 08200-9007): Approximately 2 quarts. • 3/8” drive ratchet (no socket needed) • Drain pan • Fluid transfer pump • New crush washers for both drain and fill plugs (optional but recommended) • Torque wrench • Gloves and safety glasses • Ramps or jack and jack stands (if additional clearance is needed)      ⸻ 🔧 Step-by-Step Instructions 1. Warm Up the Vehicle: Drive your Ridgeline for about 10–15 minutes to warm the differential fluid, allowing it to drain more easily.  2. Position the Vehicle: Park on a level surface. If necessary, use ramps or a jack and jack stands to elevate the rear of the vehicle safely.  3. Locate the Differential Plugs: Underneath the rear of the vehicle, identify the rear differential housing. You’ll find two plugs: • Fill Plug: Located higher up on the differential. • Drain Plug: Located at the bottom of the differential.  4. Remove the Fill Plug First: Using the 3/8” drive ratchet, remove the fill plug. This step ensures that the fill plug isn’t seized and allows air to enter, facilitating smoother drainage. 5. Drain the Old Fluid: Place the drain pan beneath the drain plug. Remove the drain plug using the 3/8” drive ratchet. Allow the old fluid to drain completely. 6. Inspect and Clean the Drain Plug: The drain plug is magnetic and may have metal shavings attached. Clean it thoroughly.  7. Reinstall the Drain Plug: Replace the crush washer if you have a new one. Reinstall the drain plug and torque it to 35 lb-ft (47 Nm). 8. Add New Fluid: Using the fluid transfer pump, fill the differential with Honda Dual Pump Fluid II through the fill hole. The correct level is reached when the fluid starts to slightly overflow from the fill hole.  9. Reinstall the Fill Plug: Replace the crush washer if you have a new one. Reinstall the fill plug and torque it to 35 lb-ft (47 Nm). 10. Clean Up: Wipe any spilled fluid from the differential housing and surrounding areas. 11. Test Drive: Drive the vehicle for a short distance to ensure there are no leaks and that the differential operates smoothly.  ⸻ 🔁 Maintenance Interval For the 2024 Honda Ridgeline, it’s recommended to change the rear differential fluid at approximately 15,000 miles for the first time, then every 30,000 miles thereafter.
