I cover a layered security approach: start with a real antivirus (not the junk trialware that comes preinstalled), keep it updated, and actually open it to review alerts and scan history. Then I move into browser security, because attackers love using the browser as the entry point — I recommend turning on Chrome Safe Browsing with Enhanced Protection. After that, I walk through encrypting your drives with BitLocker, setting a strong password (12–16 characters with upper/lower/special characters), and—if you have Windows Pro—encrypting individual files too.
