Carnival’s Mardi Gras Returns After Major Dry Dock Upgrades

Cruise news today. Carnival Cruise Line’s Mardi Gras is back in service after a month-long dry dock in France. The 180,000-gross registered ton ship received a range of updates, including connecting 100 staterooms for families, improved accessibility, retail refurbishments, and an expanded casino. PortMiami is gearing up for a record-breaking season, with 10 new cruise ships set to arrive for the 2025–26 cruise season. The lineup includes newbuilds like Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady, Celebrity’s Xcel, and Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth, which is already sailing its first Caribbean season from Miami. Other arrivals include ships from Holland America, MSC, Oceania, Norwegian, Windstar, and Silversea. Speaking of new arrivals, Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth arrived in Miami for the first time, kicking off its inaugural Caribbean season. The debut was marked with a dockside celebration and ceremonial plaque exchange, as the ship now begins sailings through April 2026.
