In this video I run a quick demo with male and female vocals plus acoustic guitar, because none of the innovation matters if the mic doesn’t sound great. Then I focus on five standout features that make this feel like more than “just another large diaphragm condenser” in an already crowded market. The big headline for me is the dual output stage: you can switch between a transformer output for slightly slower transients and a touch more airy top end, or an electronic output for a cleaner sound with faster transients. I also dig the Orbit shock mount’s extra 190° adjustment (seriously useful in tight home studio spaces), the ability to flip the capsule direction on cardioid patterns so you can still reach the controls, and the Sentry pop filter that magnet-snaps on and can be mounted either way. Finally, there’s a simple control lock to stop “helpful” bandmates from mashing buttons. What really strikes me is that a lot of these ideas could’ve existed years ago on other mics—but they didn’t.
