Try Coder Workspaces

Coder Workspaces is the cleanest “infrastructure layer” I’ve used for running coding agents remotely. I can tag a GitHub issue, let Workspaces spin up an isolated environment, and have Claude Code implement the fix and open a PR—all without touching my local machine.

Pros

  • +Free and open source
  • +Spins up isolated environments per agent session
  • +Makes parallel issue handling (dozens at once) realistic
  • +Posts a GitHub comment with a link to track task progress
  • +Works as infrastructure so you can bring Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, etc.

Cons

  • -Requires hosting/self-hosting (e.g., a VPS) and initial setup
  • -It’s not an agent itself—you still need to plug in your coding agent workflow
