The John Muir Trail – Part 9: The Final Push (Guitar Lake → Whitney Portal)

The final chapter to our amazing thru hike of the John Muir Trail. Backpacking through the Sierra's has been quite the experience and we finish off with the crowning achievement of summiting the tallest peak in the lower 48 states. Mount Whitney stands a towering 14,505ft. We finish up with a sunrise summit of Mount Whitney and then descend to the Whitney Portal. What a stunning last day and to complete the JMT with son will be one of the best two weeks of my entire life.
