Welcome to Part 4 and Day 8 on our JMT experience! Today we went up and over Selden Pass and dropped down to the South Fork of the San Joaquin River. This was the most anticipated day on trail for us based on the bridge that was destroyed there in 2023. Luckily, the majority of the Spring/Summer snow melt had already occurred and we were able to ford the river easily. As of late August 2024, there has been a new permanent bridge built which is fantastic news! Day 8: Fish Creek to the South Fork of the San Joaquin River 19.98 Miles 3,075ft of Elevation Gain
