Day 8: Leaving the PCT on the Tahoe Rim Trail (Lake Aloha to Round Lake)

Today I left the Pacific Crest Trail behind on my Tahoe Rim Trail thru-hike — and it hit harder than I expected. Day 8 on the Tahoe Rim Trail took me from Lake Aloha to Round Lake — 23.3 miles with over 4,200 feet of elevation gain. This was the day I officially left the Pacific Crest Trail, and it felt bittersweet after following it for so long. In this episode, I share the highs and lows of saying goodbye to the PCT, pushing big miles, and soaking up stunning alpine scenery.
