Today we check out a Santa Cruz Bike Demo put on by Ride Away Bicycles (rideawaybicycles.com) at Mcallister park! You may be wondering why I’m filming children riding wheelies from behind a tree, and you may also be wondering why I’m dressed like a complete bozo. I can assure you nothing weird is going on, but today we’re at a Santa Cruz bike demo. If you’ve never been to a bike demo before it’s a great chance to learn about and ride various types of bikes. From hardtails to full suspensions, a bike demo will have something for everybody. Typically a bike demo will feature bikes from one particular bike brand such as Santa Cruz. They are usually brought to you by your local bike shop, so if you are interested in a particular bike go to your local bike shop and see if they have any upcoming demos. Ride Away Bikes here in San Antonio put this one together, and it featured the Santa Cruz Highball, Tallboy, and the full suspension 5010 which I’ll be riding today. I’m no stranger to hardtails, so I wanted to try out a full squish. They have representatives from the bike manufacturer and mechanics from the local bike shop. They will help size you to the right bike, select the best type for your style of riding, adjust the suspension settings for you, and even put on your pedals off your road bike. If you’re a complete newb to riding bikes, want to possibly upgrade your current bike, or just want to ride a sub $5,000 bike you’ll probably never be able to afford, then a bike demo is for you. All I needed was my ID, Credit Card, Helmet and sense of adventure, and I was given free reign over a $4,600 Santa Cruz 5010 C S build. Here are a few clips of me having a fun overload while giving a quick review on the bike. Hit up the internet or your local shop and find out about a bike demo near you. Don’t be shy to go even if you have no prior bike experience. Everyone was super helpful and considerate. This may also be your only chance to try out a particular bike before buying if they aren’t normally in stock near you. So thanks again to Ride Away Bikes and Santa Cruz for putting on this event, and I’m looking forward to the next one. Thank you Abby for helping film :) -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- I Quit YouTube? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPQHiiuFQQc -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-
