My first day on my first trip to Bentonville Arkansas! Started with Slaughter Pen. It's amazing...enough said. Fellow content creators Chris CXK and Matt from Huntstyle made the trip and we had locals Andrew and Mike showing us around. The week before this trip was stressful as I noticed a dent in my rear wheel. Do I drive 10 hours, ride this compromised wheel and potentially risk mechanical failure, or do I go full send on a wheel upgrade. I chose the latter. Due to my lack of time before departure I had to overnight them to my hotel in Arkansas, but was greeted to a new set of I9 wheels. After making a mess in the Fairfield inn parking lot and a couple trips to phat tire bike shop I was set for our first day of riding. Our first day took us to Slaughter Pen. We were instantly greeted with smooth flowing singletrack…a far cry from the Texas chunk I’m used to. Bentonville showed me rather quickly that my bike is capable of going faster than 8 mph, which made my loins tingle! There was also some elevation that made me rethink my stance on enjoying climbs….pffft I’ve never said that. Seeing as there are a ton of videos on Slaughter Pen I won’t go into a ton of detail about it and just let the footage showcase its beauty. Some of my favorite lines from day one were Choo Choo, Boo Boo, and Tristan’s Trail. I was also stoked on hitting this drop even though I had a cringy run down the rest of it. After lunch Andrew and I decided to check out Blowing Springs which in hindsight may have been a bad idea. A big meal and excruciating humidity are perfect ingredients for a bad time. Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend much time on this more natural trail, but we did at least get a couple laps in on this gorgeous concrete pump track. Even after one day of riding I knew this place was worth the visit, and if you’re into riding I strongly suggest a trip here. Check back next week for day two of the Bentonville trip where we ride Coler Mountain Bike Preserve, two Jeffsy’s race a slalom course, and we explore even more of Slaughter Pen. Thanks so much for watching and until next week…stay rowdy within reason."
