About This Video

This Ubud chapter of my Bali travel diaries was honestly a little reality check for me—because it’s my first time getting sick on a trip. We travelled from Canggu to Ubud and the traffic was so bad (what should’ve been an hour turned into two), and by the time we arrived, I was exhausted and dealing with a sore throat and a slight fever. Tyler literally had to run to the mart for Panadol, so the vibe quickly became: no agenda, no rush… just letting myself slow down and feel better. Once I was back on my feet, our days were super soft and simple—massage nearby, little cafe stops, and just exploring Ubud at an easy pace. I shared a mini room tour after housekeeping (the pool view is the best part), wore my new New Balance 740s out, and we basically lived off iced lattes and comfort food like rosĆ© pasta, fried duck rice, and the takeout we kept repeating because it was that good. This trip reminded me that peace isn’t something to chase—it’s something you allow, especially when your body forces you to rest.
