Will I lose a YouTube watch hour if I delete, make private, or unlist my video? If this is your first time here, please consider subscribing to my channel and remember to turn on your notification button so that YouTube will notify you when I drop a new video. Okay guys! In this video, I will help you understand how YouTube Watch Hour works. So, if you'er wondering why your watch time is decreasing, it could be due to your actions or YouTube. And also, I will answer this frequently asked question; Will YouTube reduces my watch time if I delete a video?; These are the concerns of mostly small channels and channels that haven’t been monetized. If you are a small channel or have yet to be monetized, I think this video is for you. So, without further ado, let's get started. There are several reasons why your watch is slowing down, but I will only mention four of them. The first is video trimming; in case you didn’t know, when you trim or cut any part of your published video, that will reduce your watch time. And there are reasons why you might have to trim your video, which include a copyright issue that requires you to cut part of the video to stay safe or a mistake in the video. However, there are several reasons why people cut or trim their videos. Secondly, they are private and unlisted. The worst mistake you can ever make is to make your video private and unlisted when it already has watch hours. Whatever your reason for making your video unlisted and private, it will lose an hour of viewing time because YouTube only recognizes public videos.I am a victim of this. I thought I would still retain the said watch hour before placing it on private, but I didn’t, and that was sad. Thirdly is Youtube analysis: there are days when Youtube will indicate that they are having issues, and then you might experience a pause in your watch hours or a lesser watch hour than it should; however, as soon as the issue is rectified, YouTube will present you with the correct watch hours; this normally takes about 24–48 hours. The fourth is deleting videos. There are several reasons why we delete our videos on YouTube. This might be a result of a copyright issue, a video with poor views, a strike, or warnings. I particularly delete some of my videos with really poor views; it can be so embracing. And videos removed by YouTube itself will also lose their watch hours. So recently, YouTube removed one of my videos, and I had to take down the related ones. This has really affected my channel. The effect of cutting or trimming your video, putting it on private or unlisted, or maybe even deleting it, will only have an impact on small channels and channels that haven’t been monetized. This is because your watch hours for monetization will reduce, but your total watch time will not. So lemme show your guys really quick what I mean by this. So I have three videos that were deleted a few days ago. As you can see, this is the total watch time, and here are the total hours for monetization. So I hope this really helps you. To all small channels and unmonetized channels, if you value your watch hours, just avoid the reasons mentioned above for why your watch hours may be reduced, and most importantly, avoid violating YouTube's monetization policy. Let me know if you have any further questions concerning YouTube hours or other related #youtubewatchtime #youtubewatchhours #youtubemonetization issues. I will be willing to help. I will see you in my next video.
