Sony to a Canon 5DII ?! - Why You Don't Need an Expensive Kit

So with the boredom of winter upon me I decided to borrow a Canon 5D2 and a 50mm 1.4 from Auckland Camera Centres second hand shelf (Thanks to the guys) CTM Presets - http://bit.ly/2JqHAYr I went to the beach and found a random family, offered them a shoot and put myself right in the thick of it. I have never shot with a Canon on a real shoot, and before Sony I was a pro Nikon shooter so this was super interesting. This isn't about proving you can work with a crap camera because in reality its still a pretty decent camera, its about showing that you don't need a really expensive kit to get great work, this kit is about $1200 second hand vs $7500ish for my usual combo, a Sony A7R3 and 24mm GM.
