About This Video

Pricing an online community (or an online course) is one of the most common questions I get from clients—and I get why. You want a simple, “just tell me the number” answer. In this video, I explain why there isn’t one magic price that fits everyone, but there is a clear way to discover a price that works for your specific offer and your specific members. I also share a helpful benchmark from Mighty Networks: across hundreds and thousands of communities, the average price is about $48/month—while reminding you that “average” includes communities charging much more and much less. From there, I walk through the context work that actually drives good pricing decisions. I map out who your ideal members are, what results they want, and what success looks like for your network—then we connect those pieces to the offers you’re creating. To narrow into a price range, I use questions like: What are members already paying for other solutions? What’s the value of the results they’ll achieve? And what does it cost you (including your time) to deliver the experience? Finally, I talk about testing and iterating—because you’re not locked into your first price, and confidence in your pricing matters more than people think.
