About This Video

In this Spring Cleaning 2025 kickoff, I’m starting right where I can make the biggest difference fast: my kitchen. I’m coming off of my decluttering series (decluttering and cleaning are separate in my world), and I’m also being super honest—my “monthly” deep cleaning has looked more like every other month lately, and that’s okay. We don’t go for perfection around here. The goal is to do the best we can with the time we have, and to build rhythms that actually fit our real life. Today I tackle three bigger tasks: cleaning out the freezer (you’ll see why it had to happen), wiping down the cabinet fronts, and cleaning my very bad oven. For the freezer, I pulled everything out, wrestled that basket free, and used a towel + my O-Cedar spin mop hack to rake out ice and crumbs before finishing with a damp microfiber cloth. In the fridge, I focused on what actually needed attention—doors, drawers, and one shelf—because I don’t believe in doing tasks “just because.” Then I wiped cabinets with warm water, Dawn, and a dish rag, skipping the tops since we still have drywall/ceiling work coming. My biggest takeaway: spring cleaning doesn’t have to be a massive, perfectly mapped-out plan. Sit down, make a priority list, find a pocket of time, and tackle what will bless your home the most in this season.
