About This Video

In today’s video I’m still working my way through the A Bowl Full of Lemons 2025 Home Organization Challenge, and it was time to tackle our entryway coat closet. It’s one of those spaces that’s hard to film (and honestly easy to ignore), but it holds a little bit of everything—coats, hats, cleaning tools, beach and lake items, and random bins that have become a catch-all. I pulled things down, wiped bins out, and made sure what was up top was actually something we still use. I also found some easy declutters, like dried-out dog wipes and a spray we don’t like that kept falling over every time we grabbed the bin. I also went through the middle shelves and found a few “interesting” things—craft supplies I only reach for every now and then, party items that may need to be combined later, and even a Christmas basket that never made it back with the Christmas stuff. Down below, I vacuumed and did a quick mop with a wet rag so I could get the floor and baseboards without dragging out more supplies. My biggest takeaway is that having a plan to touch every space in your home each year really is worth it—you find things you didn’t even know you had, and you can reset your home in a way that supports your routines and your peace.
