About This Video

In today’s video I kept working my way through the A Bowl Full of Lemons 2025 Home Organization Challenge (Week 7), and I tackled my dining room. This space doesn’t have a ton of “big” decluttering to do, but it’s one of those rooms that has taken time to get right since we swapped it from a cozy den into our dining room. I focused on the areas that were feeling the most cluttered and least functional—especially my little sitting area and the bottom of my china cabinet. I changed up the tabletop decor because I had added a ton of frames a few videos back, and after living with it for a while, it just wasn’t working. I wanted fewer pictures, added a lamp, and adjusted the scale with taller decor (because bigger really is usually better). I also tried to problem-solve a “plant situation” that kept getting in the way during homeschool, and I made a few tweaks around the TV and stone area that I’m still learning how to decorate. Then I went through the drawers and lower cabinet storage, put away random items (including finally putting Santa away), and made better use of space by deciding not to do a plate wall. It’s already feeling less cluttered and a whole lot better—and I’m really looking forward to decorating the china cabinet for spring and Easter.
