About This Video

In this Clean with Me (Part 2), I’m continuing my February monthly cleaning tasks and working through my list with a task-cleaning approach. Instead of doing one room at a time, I focus on one task at a time—starting at the top of the room and working my way down. In this video I’m tackling ceiling fans and light fixtures, corners and ceilings, wall decor, blinds (my least favorite), and baseboards. I also share how I handle “deep clean” laundry tasks like shower curtain liners, bath mats, mattress protectors, and comforters—by simply adding them into my normal towel and sheet days so it doesn’t feel like a whole separate project. I’m also being fully transparent: I didn’t clean upstairs on camera, and this month I’m delegating some of those tasks to my teenage boys because we’ve been super busy. If your family is capable, it’s okay to ask for help—moms wear a lot of hats, and we can’t do everything all the time. To finish strong, I knock out a few kitchen monthly tasks too: I let Dawn Powerwash do the hard part by soaking my toaster oven trays and hood filter, then I wipe out the microwave, clean the toaster oven (stainless cleaner is my favorite part), and scrub down the trash can with Simple Green. The goal is simple: maintain things monthly so they never get out of hand.
