I guessed. The cover fits pretty well, but it is not a perfect fit around the top of the back. It's a little big and a little slouchy. It still works for me beacause the chair is in a corner, but I wouldn't like it if the back was visible. I'm happy with the quality of the fabric so far. ( I haven't washed it yet.) The gray is a very cool gray.
