$640 Gum Graft in Ecuador | Dental Surgery Abroad Experience The procedure took about an hour and a half. They removed tissue from the roof of my mouth and grafted it onto my upper canine area. Everything was super sterile and professional. I was completely numb, but I won’t lie — the feeling of dental tools moving around in your mouth for that long is not my favorite. They were able to take graft tissue from one side and use it across the entire area, so now my mouth is full of stitches that come out in 14 days. I’m on antibiotics, a medicated mouthwash, and pain meds. Costs breakdown: Pre-op labs: $26 Pharmacy: $22 Gum graft procedure: $640 Pain hasn’t fully kicked in yet… but the smell of tooth grinding during the procedure? 0/10 recommend 😅 Now we wait and hope the graft takes so I can avoid gum recession, tooth sensitivity, and exposed roots long term. Has anyone else had a gum graft? Would you consider dental surgery outside the U.S.? — #GumGraft #GumGraftRecovery #DentalSurgery #GumRecession #ExpatHealthcare #DentalWorkAbroad #MedicalTourism #OralHealth #EcuadorLife
