How to fix Porsche 997 / 987 Window Malfunction (911, Boxster, Cayman)

Is the window on your Porsche 997 or 987 (911, Boxster, Cayman) not staying in the dropped position when you open the door? The culprit is a faulty door latch mechanism. However, before you replace the unit try spraying WD40 into the latching mechanism and cycle the door latch manually several times. This fixed my issue and may fix yours.
