It's a really powerful website with huge authority, in fact it's the 77th most powerful website on the planet. That means that any article that you publish on Medium will have a huge chance of ranking on the 1st page of Google. Medium only publishes user-generated content, which means that regular people like you and I can publish content on Medium and if you publish a post on Medium with carefully chosen keywords, you will have an awesome chance to rank for that post on page 1 and get traffic to your website. The traffic that you can get from Medium is fast and it's also completely free. You can direct that traffic to anywhere you want: to your blog, to your website, to your eCom store, shopify store, or just straight to affiliate links (yes Medium allows affiliate links). First you need to find a keyword which is targeted to your niche. Then you need to check if there's already an article on Medium on your chosen keyword. You want a keyword which hasn't yet had an article specific to this keyword published on Medium. Once you've found the keyword, write an article. Place that keyword once into the title, and a few times into the body of the article.
