Two teenagers were stabbed at Mooney's Bay Park in Ottawa on Saturday night, leaving an 18-year-old man in critical condition and a 16-year-old girl with minor lacerations, as the Ottawa Police Service searches for suspects. CTV's Natalie van Rooy reports that Insp. Jamie Harper says the violence began with an altercation within a large group gathered at the park and that police have obtained video evidence clearly showing the escalation leading up to the stabbing; Ottawa's Champlain Table Tennis Club is hosting the inaugural Marty Supreme Cup at its South Keys Plaza location, a tournament inspired by the film of the same name in which players compete using old-school sandpaper paddles instead of rubber rackets to level the playing field for all skill levels. CTV's Josh Marano reports that club owner Paulo Chira says the format is designed to take the game back to how it was played decades ago, with sandpaper paddles reducing the spin and speed advantages that favour experienced players; and Nearly 60 children and youth ranging in age from four to 18 took part in the Ottawa Children's Business Fair, selling handmade products and creative services while learning core business skills including pricing, cost management, and financial strategy. CTV's Camille Wilson reports that Mayor Mark Sutcliffe attended the event and praised the spirit of entrepreneurship, while fair coordinator SJ Anderson explained that participants typically borrow startup funds from their parents and repay them after sales.
