Street Racer Cries for His Mommy After High-Speed Chase | Criminal Lawyer Reacts

In Bernalillo County, New Mexico, 22-year-old Fernando Martinez was arrested after a high-speed street racing incident near the Isleta Amphitheater that endangered public safety. Deputies with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office were responding to reports of illegal drag racing and reckless driving, including vehicles weaving through traffic in a crowded area. Martinez attempted to flee from law enforcement, running red lights and driving in oncoming lanes before being taken into custody. He faced multiple charges, including reckless driving, resisting arrest, and aggravated fleeing from officers, with law enforcement also reporting a firearm was found in his vehicle. The arrest underscores ongoing concerns about street racing and public danger on Albuquerque roadways. Fernando was sentenced to federal prison for firearms offenses, including possessing machine guns, a silencer, and selling hundreds of guns, to be followed by 36 months of supervised release. This followed a 2022 case where a different Martinez was sentenced to seven years.
