Because for me, a keyboard isn’t just about RGB and a brand name, it’s about how it feels, how consistent it is, and whether it gives you that clean, satisfying thock (or whatever sound you’re chasing). I also make it clear that not every gaming keyboard is automatically bad—there are some genuinely solid ones out there. But once you understand what custom keyboards offer (switch choice, stabilizers, mounting styles, tuning, and overall build quality), you start to see why customs are so appealing. The takeaway is simple: “better” depends on what you care about. If you want convenience and a one-click purchase, a good gaming board can be fine. If you want control over feel and sound and you want something tailored to you, custom is hard to beat.
