Owner Mike Stewart admitted that several models marketed as premium CPM-154 were actually constructed from imported Chinese blanks. While Stewart claimed these were "modified" enough to meet "Made in USA" criteria, the scandal—combined with reports of unpaid employees and financial mismanagement—led to the company's permanent shutdown.
