N.L. Budget 2026 increases payments to foster families for first time in 12 years

The minister in charge of child protection in Newfoundland and Labrador says too many children are living in corporate care, and he wants to change that. Joedy Wall says this year’s budget includes a plan to shorten the wait times for adoptions by years, and double the number of children adopted.
