Linkind Matter Smart Plug ~ Pairing to SmartThings v2 & Aeotec Hubs

Hello, everyone! Welcome back to Bud’s Smart Home. Today, I'm thrilled to introduce the Linkind Matter Smart Plug – a device that seamlessly integrates with popular smart home platforms like Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, and more. Watch the following video for a demonstration where I'll compare the process of adding this Matter device to the SmartThings version 2 hub, which is solely a Matter controller, and then I will demonstrate how to add the plug to the Aeotec hub, which performs as a Thread Border Router. NOTE: The SmartThings v2 hub does not have a Thread Border Router. It only performs as a Matter Controller. Therefore, assuming you only have a ST v2 hub, you will need to have another hub that contains a TBR to create a Thread Network in your home in order to establish a Thread Network. In the video I demonstrate how to use an Echo 4, which contains a TBR , to create a Thread Network. I then use the Alexa App to add the Linkind Matter Plug to my SmartThings v2 hub.
